Grant Dewar raises £1310 by
shaving off his beard and
donates the money to Ward 34
Endowment Fund.
The fund's name is used for
raising money towards the
Jamie Croll Memorial Fund
and
through 2 events each
year - a run/bike run and a
golf tournament - the total
amount
is sent together at
one time to the ward.
This was a fortunate year
with Grant donating his
money, a donation from JB
Sports - Sheree Rennies'
place of work, a donation
from Cormorant Alpha in the
North Sea - Jim Taylor's
place
of work, and two
signed football shirts which
have all added to the
magnificent total this
year
of £6500.
The money can only be used
for nurses on that ward
taking advanced cancer care
courses
and for patient
comfort items. (Last year
several laptops were bought
for patients.) Since the
first fundraising event in
2001 over £22,500 has been
donated to the ward.
The Croll family would like
to give a big thanks
to everyone who takes part
or helps in any
way in any
of the 2 yearly events.
